Concrete Mktg. & eBay set prog rock/pool benefit for T.J. Martell on July 20
July 17, 2004 -- Concrete Marketing is presenting the "Pool Cu'r'e Nights II" benefit for the T.J. Martell Foundation on Tuesday, July 20, 2004, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at Slate in New York City. Slate is located at 54 W. 21st St. between Fifth and Sixth avenues. Progressive rock music and pool will be featured. The minimum admission price is $20 per person at the door. Pool tables are available by reservation only.
All proceeds will be donated to the T.J. Martell Foundation specifically for pediatric AIDS research. The first "Pool Cu'r'e Night" grossed $18,000 last April for the charity.
"Charity is always spiritually rewarding," says Concrete Marketing president and T.J. Martell Foundation Board of Directors member Bob Chiappardi. "And it can also be lots of fun! I grew up on progressive rock and I love playing billiards. Based on the response we are getting to the event, so do lots of other people in the music industry. My goal is to raise as much money this year for T.J. Martell as possible while making it pleasurable for our contributors as well."
For the minimum $20 admission donation, there will be free drinks from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. courtesy of Budweiser, Rain Vodka, Red Bull and Jagermeister. Drink specials will follow throughout the evening.
One pool table may be reserved for a $1,000 donation. The package includes signage, 10 passes to the event and a $250 bar tab for the table sponsor and guests. Companies and groups of people are encouraged to "pool" their resources for a reservation. Only 31 pool tables are available.
A silent auction, giveaways and raffles are part of the event, and items include memorabilia from progressive rock giants such as Pink Floyd, Rush, Yes, Emerson Lake & Palmer and many more.
The memorabilia will be on display at the event. Items are priced for immediate purchase but they are also available via auction on eBay, an event partner, through July 30, 2004. If an item is purchased on site it will automatically be removed from eBay.
Entertainers from VIP, Tens, Scores, Penthouse and Hustler will be on hand selling raffle tickets and dancing to the music of the finest progressive rock artists.
New memorabilia is being added daily. Items include:
* Gold albums from a Recording Industry Association of America plaque manufacturer for the following classics:
Pink Floyd - 'The Wall'
Jethro Tull - 'Aqualung'
